- Title
'IOP control index' shows promise as a prognostic tool.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined intraocular pressure (IOP) control in patients with chronic angle-closure glaucoma and a coexisting cataract. Patients were assigned to a group who received phaco-trabeculectomy alone and another group who received a combined phaco-trabeculectomy procedure. Results of the study showed that preoperative IOP control index was the only factor in both groups to be significantly associated with postoperative IOP control and hypotony in combined surgery cases.
