- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated whether a herbal formula composed of Fuling, Baizhu and Danggui (FBD) enhances the proliferation and neurotrophin expression during human Schwann cell (SC) cultivation. Results of the study showed that FBD treatment led to increased SCs survival for more than 24 hours and for 48 hours. Flow cytometry findings indicate that FDB induced proliferation of SCs by increasing cell population in the G2/M and S phases, decreasing polyploid cells and increasing the sub-G0 population.
