- Abstract
The article analyses Pedagogical Tourism as an alternative that links education and leisure and is capable of providing development of the subject, through interaction with the environment. This kind of activity is relatively new, and many tourism theorists have dedicated special efforts to attempting to conceptualize it. Despite these attempts, pedagogical tourism has commonly been presented as a market segment and not as an educational practice rooted in the guiding principles of education. This study is, therefore, particularly important as it provides the reader with some reflections on the theme, and information that can serve as support for teachers. The aim was to develop a descriptive work with the aim of addressing the theme in a conceptual way, in order to disseminate this educational activity in a clear way. Secondary studies were carried out on education, leisure and pedagogical tourism, highlighting a need for education to adopt differentiated practices that are consistent with contemporary needs. The reflections offered in this study lead to the conclusion that pedagogical tourism is an important tool for linking education and leisure, which can contribute to the learning process reaffirming, through experience, social, cultural and environmental values.
