- Abstract
An essay is presented on protection of fundamental freedom of women from violence. It talks about the Violence Against Women Act enacted by U.S. Supreme Court for protecting women against violence by giving them right to report against crimes, seek justice and hold their offenders accountable for the crimes. The author also reflects on the progress made by federal and state government in making laws to protect women by providing remedies to protect their basic civil rights.
