- Title
Unnecessary Roughness: Why the NCAA's Heavy-Handed Amateurism Rules Violate the Sherman Antitrust Act.
- Authors
Shaver, Stephen
- Abstract
The article discusses the reasons why the author claims that the U.S. National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA's) amateurism rules violate America's Sherman Antitrust Act as of 2015, and it mentions the legal aspects of college sports in the country, as well as the NCAA's adherence to a rule which states that college athletes may not receive any payment or other benefit, except of a scholarship, in return for participating in athletics. Potential wages for college athletes are examined.
