- Title
Zoning Law. West v. McDonald, 18 A.3d 526 (R.I. 2011).
- Authors
Giacofci, William J.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the zoning laws of the U.S. It discusses one of the cases West v. McDonald, of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. The court in this case held that the state and city land use statutes require a subdivision proposal to comply with both the city's zoning ordinance and comprehensive plan. Furthermore, a petitioner's reliance on the city's zoning ordinance was an insufficient basis on which to state a claim under the doctrine of equitable estoppel.
