- Abstract
The article reports on the highlights of the results of a study which compared marker levels before and after injury in 113 elderly women. A description of the experimental setup and measurement method is given. The study showed that bone turnover markers (BTM) sampled within a few hours after fracture were not altered from preinjury levels. Also, the elevation was most pronounced after hip fracture.
