- Abstract
The article offers information on the problems of fratricide in military land operations with reference to several examples of battles by Australian soldiers. It states that the Australia's Department of Defence (DOD) looks after these problems and has been taking steps to improve general combat identification (GCID) of friendly troops. According to the DOD's Capability Development Group, Australia seeks to acquire a combat identification (CID) capability suitable to use in surface aircrafts.
