- Abstract
This is a qualitative study that aimed to analyze the factors involved in the process of systematization's implementation of nursing care reported by nurses working in the unit of palliative care in oncology, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro / Brazil. The study was conducted in 2008. The survey was conducted with eight nurses. Data were collected through a focal group, and submitted to analysis of thematic contents from the perspective of complexity. The systematization of nursing care can be regarded as a major search of the nurses towards the qualification and humanization of care. For nurses, besides the lack of human resources and knowledge related to the theme, in the context of performance, the multiple and complex facets care of customer and family give more complexity to the deployment process of the systematization of nursing care, indicating that it needs to be structured from dynamic and flexible references, able to integrate the disciplinary knowledge in the recognition of human being as complex. Thus, the systematization of nursing care is presented as a challenge, which indicates the need for further investigations to the continuous improvement of nursing practice.
