- Title
Diamond nanosensors: The sense of colour centres.
- Authors
Budker, Dmitry
- Abstract
The article focuses on the report by researcher Florian Dolde and colleagues on the use of negatively charged Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) colour centres of diamonds to measure electric fields. It says that NVs' magnetic sensitive ground state enables them to be pumped into a single magnetic sublevel in a ground state. Furthermore, the researchers have made advances on the previous studies on NV centres by analyzing atomic-scale resolution of higher sensitivity, as well as the NV-centre's interactions.
