- Authors
Blainey, Paul C; Quake, Stephen R
- Abstract
The article reflects on genomic analysis of single cells. Topics include a map of the Drosophila genome published by researcher Calvin Bridges in 1935, the polymerase chain reaction, and biochemical amplification technologies to single cells and single-cell sequencing. Other topics include development in human genome analysis, an example of sequence variation in human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and the preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) of couples conceiving through in vitro fertilization.
