- Title
World's Biggest Ice Sheets Likely More Stable Than Previously Believed.
- Abstract
The article discusses research led by David Rowley from the University of Chicago on ancient shorelines of the eastern U.S., which he claims have risen since ancient times due to pressure from the Earth's mantle. Previous theories on the dropping of ocean levels and the breakup of ice sheets explaining higher shorelines are mentioned, as well as the interior dynamics of the Earth, the East Antarctic Ice Sheet, and the use of computer simulations to recreate ancient geography.
