The article focuses on the life of U.S. President Lyndon Baines Johnson, born in Stonewall, Texas in 1908, and how his upbringing in the U.S. South impacted his political and social views. The author explores how populism may have impacted his political career, discusses his family's political values, and explores why education and family farms became such important political issues for him.
