- Title
CAPITAL BUDGETING QUESTIONNAIRES: A NEW PERSPECTIVE.
- Authors
Klammer, Thomas P.; Walker, Michael C.
- Abstract
The commonly held belief that large business entities increasingly are adopting sophisticated capital budgeting techniques is based primarily on the results of numerous questionnaire surveys. There has been debate over the validity of using unrelated questionnaire data to reach conclusions about trends in capital budgeting practices. This paper presents new evidence that suggests that the conclusions about trends in capital budgeting practices drawn from a variety of questionnaire surveys are reasonably valid. It also lends support to the practice of using multiple time series surveys to indicate trends in general.
