- Abstract
A translation of the article "Soviet Cultural Psychology" is presented. The article discusses the 20th century history of the study of psychology and culture in the Soviet Union. The author cites the academic careers of cultural psychologist Lev Vygotsky, psychoanalyst Alexander Luria and marxist psychologist Alexei Leontyev and their joint work in cultural and experimental psychologies. He also points out the contribution of American psychologist Mike Cole and his translation of works by Vygotsky and Luria to the development of American cultural psychology.
