- Abstract
The article reports on the insistency of Egypt President Hosni Mubarak to stay in the office in the hope to preside gradual political change in the country for the rest of his term. Mubarak affirms that he can still perform his presidential responsibilities despite his aging condition. In 1981, Mubarak became president of Egypt and chairman of the National Democratic Party. He was re-elected by majority votes in 1987,1993, and 1999 for three successive terms.
