- Abstract
For analyzing the influence of width changes in inlet contraction section of dustpan-shaped inlet conduit to the flow characteristics, there designed three groups of width changes of the inlet contraction section: progressive enlarged type, linear type and progressive contracted type. Based on the Reynolds average N-S equation of three-dimensional incompressible fluid, the numerical simulation used VOF model and RNG k-ε turbulent flow model and adopted the SIMPLEC algorithm. The result shows that the design of three groups of inlet conduit is reasonable, among which the flow characteristics of the progressive enlarged type is slightly better than that of the linear type, and the linear type is slightly better than the progressive contracted type. Under the same operating conditions, the change in the width of the inlet contraction section in three design schemes affects the flow velocity, streamlines and vorticity contours in the inlet conduit and can ensure better flow characteristics in the inlet conduit. Through the rectifying action of the flare tube, the ideal hydraulic optimization target value is achieved.
