- Abstract
The author recounts his experience when his wife undergone assisted reproductive technology, wherein eggs are surgically removed from the woman's ovaries combining them with sperm in the laboratory and returning them to the woman's body or donating them to another woman. He recalls his fear when his wife was inside the surgical center while he waited in the car. He reveals that he thought of the soup that he will make for dinner to alleviate his fear.
