- Abstract
Objective: To report the potential of convergent care research for the implementation of the Systematization of Nursing Care in an Emergency Care Unit. Method: This is an experience report on the process of implementing the systematization of nursing care that used the Convergent Care Research method in an Emergency Care Unit with a view to complying with Nursing legislation, promoting changes and qualifying care and thus, corroborate the insertion of innovations in health practices, strengthening the knowledge and actions of the Nursing team. Results: After collective discussions with all the actors involved and workshops to train people on the subject, nurses were able to rethink and rebuild skills. It was possible to identify the possible nuances that hindered the implementation of care practices through the Nursing Process, as well as to reinforce motivation strategies, awareness and considerable contributions regarding the qualification of care, since the implementation of the Systematization of Nursing Care contributes to the professional recognition, growth and solidification of Nursing as a science. Final Considerations: The Convergent Care Research allowed changes in health care practice, maintaining during the process a close relationship between research and care with the purpose of finding alternatives to solve problems and introduce innovations in the context of the practice in which the method is used.
