- Abstract
This work analyzes the effect of the diameter of a water-filled cylindrical region on the structure of a bubble polydisperse flow. Numerical flow simulation is based on a mathematical model that uses the Eulerian–Eulerian approach for multiphase media and includes the heterogeneous MUSIG model for polydispersity, k-ω-SST turbulence model and interphase momentum transfer. The bubble distributions are obtained for the sections near the aerator and the free surface. The bubble flow modes with full and partial region occupancy are identified and the transition criterion is determined.
