- Abstract
Epidermal nevi are congenital hamartomas originated from ectodermal cells of embryo. Nevus spilus is an epidermal nevus consisting of a light tan patch with numerous dark brown macules and papules within it. The term 'epidermal nevus syndrome' is used to describe the association of epidermal hamartomas and extra-cutaneous abnormalities. Here we present a rare case of 5 year-old girl with a keratinocytic epidermal nevus and nevus spilus accompanying hemi-hypertrophy which is not consistent with any known epidermal nevus syndromes.
