In this article, the author discusses Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Fourteenth Amendment in context to civil rights law to apply them to deter and prevent discrimination affecting the Latino community. Topics include cases undertaken by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), ordinance published on Federation for American Immigration Reform's website, and the First Amendment as part of the Bill of Rights.
