- Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the anthropometric profile and cardiorespiratory fitness of a group of teenagers swimming in the city of Araguari. Methods: Nine athletes of male swimming in Bantam categories (n = 1), petiz (n = 2), children (n = 3), juvenile (n = 2) and junior (n = 1) Sport School SESI in Araguari / MG. nine anthropometric variables were measured: body mass (kg), height (m), wingspan (m), body circumferences (m), skinfold thickness (mm), BMI (kg/m?), fat mass (kg), lean mass (kg), body fat percentage (%), and cardiorespiratory fitness Cooper test (T-12) to the pool. Results: found height 1.64 ± 0.16 meters, body weight 58.9 ± 14.2 kg, BMI 21.5 ± 2.7 kg / m2, reaching 1.70 ± 0.18 m. fat percentage of 15.7% ± 7.9, 8.9 ± 4.2 kg fat, 49.9 ± 14.2 kg of muscle mass. body girth: 82.7 ± 8.8 cm chest, 70.6 ± 6.05 cm waist, 70.8 ± 15.5 cm abdomen, 26.1 ± 3.12 cm right arm 25, 6 ± 3.03 cm left arm, 49.2 ± 4.8 cm in the right thigh, 49.1 ± 4.8 cm thigh. In the T-12 the distance was 650.7 ± 146.2 m. With this study we can see that the evaluation of the anthropometric profile and cardiorespiratory fitness is important to obtain the design of the training, the teacher can evaluate the results and quantify the necessary loads for better performance of athletes.
