- Abstract
The article presents a study on the possibility of Asian shore crab species Hemigrapsus sanguineus (decapoda, grapsidae) as a new intermediate host for the parasite polymorphus botulus (acanthocephala) in New Jersey-area waters. It primarily explores the potential presence of prey items in the surrounding area for the occurrence of intermediate life states of the parasite. Details on the study are accounted showing the existence of the parasite on several specimens of H. sanguineus.
