The article discusses the use of what is referred to as the wave metaphor within the historiography (covering the late 19th century through the early 21st century) and periodization of feminism in the U.S. The article references interviews with feminists on their attitudes towards U.S. feminism history, including their critiques of the wave metaphor and the identity of 21st century feminism.
