The article offers information on the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) certification and its significance to John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). The five areas for accreditation are institutional setting (IS), medical students (MS), faculty (FA), educational resources (ER) and educational program for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree (ED). The accreditation process is detailed. Ways on how medical student teachers can support JABSOM's accreditation efforts are enumerated.
