- Title
Should a 401(k) Plan Be a Safe Harbor 401 (k) Plan?
- Authors
Feit, Scott M.
- Abstract
The article examines the cost effectiveness of a safe harbor 401(k) plan in the U.S. According to the author, if a 401(k) plan would have no difficulty passing the 401(k) antidiscrimination test and the employer prefers to allocate company contributions to active participants, a safe harbor 401(k) plan would not be appropriate for the company. It says that most investment companies are adopting safe harbor 401(k) plans because they are easier to administer.
