- Abstract
This work aims to make an overview of how language acquisition occurs and explain the possible diferences that occur in this process through diferente views of Linguistics. The central objective, therefore, is to answer the question: How do children begin to speak? To answer this question, we carried out a bibliographical research, through three theoretical currents thats ought to give possible explanations for these questions, namely, Skinner's Behaviorism (1957), with the behaviorist hypothesis; Chomsky's Gerativism (1959), with the innatist hypothesis; and the interactionist hypothesis proposed by Vygotsky (1978). In the end, we will draw a comparison between these theoretical currents in order to elucidate the main diferences admitted between the three theoretical perspectives and what are the theoretical contributions of each one of them to the field of investigation of language acquisition.
