- Abstract
The study presents data from the current situation in Brazil and the world on the production and consumption of organic cotton in the textile industry, and the advertising and marketing strategies that can positively affect the changing of this scenario still insignificant for this commodity. Among the research objectives are the gathering of data and information on the production and use of organic cotton, in addition to understanding the key marketing strategies and the study of consumer behavior. The article reveals that it is possible to see this production can get bigger, especially if combined with communication strategies, responsible for bringing information and publicize the benefits of the product to the final consumer. However, it is important that consumers understand further the commercial value of organic cotton, because even raising the price of the products, it provides less environmental impact. Understanding is not reserved for consumers, but also for businesses, that are responsible for supplying this market niche.
