- Abstract
To identify the effects of meditation practices and programs on the health of nursing professionals. Integrative review conducted in April 2020 through the search for publications in journals indexed in Scopus, MEDLINE / PubMed, OneFile, Sage Journals and PMC. The hospital environment was the setting for all research (n=10). The interventions applied were mostly (n=7) of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) type, with an average duration of four to eight weeks. Meditation programs had immediate effects on stress relief, burnout risk, increased satisfaction with compassion, personal power, improved quality of life, physical and psychological dimensions, and reduced anxiety and depression traits. The aspects to be considered for the implementation of these programs in hospitals include using traditional meditation techniques, validated, maintaining a continuous character, taught by a qualified professional and encouraging the organization of the professionals' time.
