- Abstract
Work overload has become one of the main predisposing factors for illness and suicide. The objective of this study was to investigate in the national and international literature the relationship between work overload and suicide in the nursing team. It is configured as an Integrative Literature Review (RIL) study. The research question was elaborated through the PICO strategy. The collection took place in the CAPES Periodic databases and database; Cochrane Library; PubMed and LILACS. Through the Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD) method, the following classes emerged: The physical and emotional exhaustion of the nurse generated by work overload; the relationship between the nursing team and health service users; the violence experienced by nurses in the workplace and nursing sick and depression. The hospital environment remains the great employment medium for nursing professionals, being a complex environment due to interdisciplinarity.
