- Abstract
The study aims to investigate the entrepreneurial intentions of Administration students from Centro Universitário do Vale do Ipojuca (UNIFAVIP / DEVRY), covering the skills required for the creation of own business and major barriers. The research, classified as applied, predominantly qualitative, descriptive and of survey characteristics, was applied to one hundred eighty-six students (186). The instrument used was the questionnaire from the authors Viera and Rodrigues (2014), composed of eleven closed questions, and divided in two stages: respondent's profile and entrepreneurial intentions. It has also been adapted because it was initially applied to Engineering students, and this study was conducted with management students. The survey results show that most undergraduates in Administration Business are already entrepreneurs or intend to be. Regarding the main barriers identified to open the project, the respondents informed that even with the presence of public policies that facilitate the formalization of business and also entities that promote technical / managerial skills. Some encountered barriers affect the effectiveness of the business idea, for instance: the high taxation of the country and the difficulty of small entrepreneurs to obtain credit with financial institutions. Since the skills that need to be developed by the students is able to adapt its planning to the actual circumstances encountered, innovating with few resources, taking into account legal aspects required.
