- Abstract
The article discusses the international human rights treaties ratified by U.S. namely the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. It analyzes the applicability of 42 U.S.Code§1983 as a proper legal vehicle for domestic litigation of international treaty violations. It suggests the U.S. to withdraw its reservations and take the step to promote human rights.
