- Title
The Physical Chemistry of Dyeing: Enigma and Understanding.
- Authors
Schuler, Mathias J.
- Abstract
The article presents a study on the theories of textile dyeing in the U.S. The author stated that in studying dyeing mechanisms, conditions of experimentations must be carefully controlled and specified. He added that transition kinetics forms the basis for a compatibility test for disperse dyes. Moreover, controlling the activity of the dye has been accomplished by dyeing polyester in isoctane containing sufficient dye to saturate the system. Furthermore, the fiber has been dyed using an amount of dye equal to one-third of the saturation value to reduce experimental difficulty.
