- Abstract
Introduction: Scientific findings nowadays describe that several neuronal functions which control the mechanics of the brain are highly influenced by the nutritional environment. For instance, generic cognitive abilities that are carried out all the time, like thinking, can be affected by the extent to which one's digestive system is put to work for the night. Establishing a relation between both thus helps to manipulate the mental state and functioning simply by altering the dietary intake. The main aim of this study is to determine the effects of diet on cognitive functions. Materials and Methods: Questionnaires on the dietary habits and cognitive traits of the subjects were prepared and distributed to 100 people through SurveyPlanet. The results of the questionnaire were statistically analyzed and calculated. Results: There is a marked correlation between dietary patterns and cognition. This shows that the cognitive functions of individuals are modulated by the diet and can be controlled so. Conclusion: Cognitive functions are influenced by nutrition. This relation can be manipulated to establish a healing relation on cognitive deficiencies.
