- Abstract
In this paper an influence of connection type to the damping in frame towers is analysed. A tower model with riveted and screwed joints is tested. Natural modes of the tower model are determined by preliminary calculation by using Finite Element Method. Tower model is then deformed in the shape of natural modes and allowed to vibrate. Acceleration in vibration process by mounted accelerometers is measured Damping factor from acceleration amplitude decay for all considered joint connection types is determined.
