- Abstract
We propose an airborne experiment to study cosmic rays at knee energy taking opportunity of 10.000 hours of Airbus A380 test flights at an altitude of 10 km. The available area of nearly 500 m2 would allow for deploying EAS array with hadron detectors to measure CR iron spectra up to ~ 107 GeV and high energy protons surviving without interaction. At an altitude of 10 km the showers initiated by heavy nuclei are more developed and stable than proton initiated showers.1 Registration of both E-M and hadron components will help to discriminate between heavy and light primaries.
