- Abstract
With the globalization, the interdependency of the countries has increased and economic activities have greatly become a subject of international interaction. Implementation of efficient economic policies independent and isolated from the developments in other countries has become rather difficult. Rapid developments in the communication and transportation technologies have led the world to an economic, political and cultural globalization. Consequently, these developments have created a global consumption desire all over the world. This desire makes compulsory to increase national income and social welfare. However, this consumption desire of the people is prevented by the price increases, inflation and unemployment. If there is a high inflation in an economy, this will cause problems especially for those people who have fixed income or wages. Inflation damages income distribution and damaged income distribution causes inflation. In a society, inequitable income distribution causes people to suffer from earning their living and to become unhappy, it also hinders the healthy and steady growth of the economy. Damaged income distributions disrupt political stability by causing social disturbances. Inequality in the income distribution increases budget deficit and disrupts economic performance. In a rapidly globalizing world economy, in order to catch its own suitable position, Turkey should solve its problems quickly and come to the level of developed countries. In this study, the writer examines some problems of Turkish economy which are seen important by the him.
