- Title
«IL DIO DELLA PACE» NELL'EPISTOLARIO PAOLINO.
- Abstract
The Author argues that Paul is the New Testament writer who develops the theme of peace to the greatest extent. To this end, he examines the theme of peace in the Pauline corpus. The point of departure is the phrase coned by Paul: "God of peace". Then, the Author sifts through several elements of the Semitic and Greco-Roman cultural background. Next, he gives the theological basis of the Pauline idiom and analyzes various aspects of peace (with God, ecclesial, with nonChristians). Finally, he treats concepts associated with peace based on contextual use (love-agape, grace-charis, joy-chara, unity, life, kingdom-basileia). The Author concludes by asserting that the Christian understanding of peace is absolutely linked to the understanding of God himself, who for Paul is incontestably the "God of peace" and consequently the author "of peace and not of disorder" (1Cor 14,33)."
