- Title
SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW: CIVIC VIRTUE AND THE CASE FOR SAME-SEX MARRIAGE.
- Authors
Graham, Tiffany C.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the civic virtue and the case for same-sex marriage in the U.S. The Supreme Court of the country has issued a decision in 1993, which forced the question of same-sex marriage from academic institutions. With this regard, the federal government responded to the ruling by passing the Defense of Marriage Act. The proponents of same-sex marriage argue that marriage stands for a number of principles and ideals including family relations.
