- Title
DO CHINESE ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS WORK? A STUDY OF LITIGATION AS A RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM OF FISHERY POLLUTION IN CHINA.
- Authors
McMullin, Joseph
- Abstract
In this article the author discusses the accessibility of the law to fish farmers to justify their legal rights in China. He is critical on the issue of fishery pollution and asserts that a litigation which comes up out of fishery pollution merits attention. He believes that the obstacles which prevent the farmers from obtaining compensation include protectionism from local governments who rely on the polluting industries and the lack of funding from the government and aggrieved farmers.
