- Abstract
The article looks at how the radio has changed the way in which the world receives the news. Included is a history of the initial attempts at radio transmission by the United Nations from New York. The Department of Public Information established rules that the radio should not serve as a place to spread propaganda. In the beginning, the radio featured the news in six different languages and was transmitted in countries such as France and Italy. The Naciones Unidas (ONU) radio in Latin America and Spain and was especially helpful to countries during the Cold War. The article also gives details about the advances of technology, especially regarding the distribution of information on the Internet.
