Mars: Phoenix goes to work.
- Abstract
The article reports on the successful landing of the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Phoenix probe on Mars on May 25, 2008, as well as its examination of the soil layer in its immediate vicinity. It says that the Phoenix established that the subsurface where it landed was mostly water ice. Moreover, it notes that chemical analysis conducted on Martian soil has shown a potential environment for life on the planet.
