Practice Notes: Strategies in Health Education.
- Abstract
The article provides information on various health education programs in the U.S. The program "How to Talk to Your Doctor" is a two hour forum which aims to improve doctor-patient communication as well as medical care utilization. Border Health Information & Education Network (¡BIEN!) Program is a regional coalition of 17 partners in three southern New Mexico counties which provides access to bilingual health information thru the Internet. Planned Approach to Healthier Schools (PATHS) program is a school-based modification of the Centers for Disease Control's Planned Approach to Community (PATCH) model. Information related to strategies, initiatives, and implications of each program is presented.
