- Abstract
The article discusses the conditions in the labour market and their implications for labour quality in Great Britain. Demographic shifts, government policy and social change have completely changed the structure of Great Britain labour force. A data from the Labour Force Survey and the General Household Survey were used to construct the quality-adjusted labour input series. According to the author, one can derive a truer measure of the contribution of labour to production, by adjusting standard measures of an economy's total hours worked with a labour quality index.
