- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of a proper gas and liquid mixing in increasing the chemical process industry's productivity in the U.S. The increase in reactor size has played a key role in reducing cost as well as raising the competitiveness in the global economy despite a demand increase on the performance of the reactor agitators. Also presented are the aspects that should be included in increasing productivity. It is also important to provide the traditional agitator and impeller designs in competing demands of mixing with an increase in scale. Furthermore, it is also significant to have a low-density compressible gas that is dispersed in a much denser liquid with a reasonably long contact time.
