An editorial is presented on effective abstracts being essential for enticing potential readers in examining research reports. Topics include potential readers being aware of the significance of the topic not need to be addressed unless the study filling an unusual gap in extant knowledge; and poorly constructed or marginally informative abstracts dissuading journal editors and potential peer referees.
