The Language Deficit.
Abstract
The article reports on the increase in demand on the study of languages other than English in the U.S. A study conducted by Modern Language Association (MLA) of America revealed that the growing number of studied languages include Arabic, Korean and Chinese. The author comments that the large percentage of enrollees is a good sign that interest in language learning is also rising.
