- Title
The Air Force’s Misconception of Integrated Air and Missile Defense.
- Authors
Corey, Craig R.
- Abstract
The article tackles the U.S. Air Force's (USAF) misconception of integrated air and missile defense (IAMD). It describes the defensive counterair framework and discusses the scope of the IAMD approach, its relationship with the counterair mission, and confusion between IAMD and counterair operations in the context of offensive and defensive activities, unity of command and unity of effort. Several actions that the USAF could take are suggested to demonstrate the primacy of counterair.
