- Authors
GREENHILL, PAULINE; KOHM, STEVEN
- Abstract
The article explores the connection among fairy tale, filmic and legal discourses by invoking Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon" in analyzing the animated films "Jim Roh: The Wolf Brigade" and "Hoodwinked." According to the article, although "Rashomon" remains skeptical about storyteling, truth and the possibility of justice, the other two films demonstrate objectivist viewpoints on the issues. However, all three films encourage audiences to question simple and linear conceptions of truth.
